At The Patch we offer year long programmes for young people looking to learn skills in horticulture, farming practices and animal care. On our 2 acre patch, surrounded by Co-founders Bek and Catharine's 5th generation apple orchard, we teach skills to people of all abilities, from seed sowing to harvest.
We offer day visits for groups, and are currently looking for young adults 18+ to join us for supported work experience, learning all the necessary skills needed to join the workforce.
At The Patch we grow cut flowers, herbs, vegetables and fruit, propagating plants from seeds and cuttings both outdoors and in our polytunnel, using organic and regenerative principles. Horticulture provides opportunities for work experience and training at The Patch. Our flowers & foliage are sold via Co-Founder Bek's business Blooming Green to New Covent Garden Flower Market in London, and Loddington Farm shop, allowing learners to be involved with the whole process from seed sowing to delivering to the seller.
Alongside our beds, we have 200 apple trees which we care for and harvest for eating or to be juiced by Owlets Fruit Juice.
